Director of F&B at The Compton Hotel

Position Overview

Ropeswing Hospitality Group is seeking a forward-thinking Director of Food & Beverage to lead our our F&B operations at the new development, The Compton Hotel, located in Downtown Bentonville, AR.

The Director of Food & Beverage is the force behind all food and beverage outlets within the Downtown Bentonville Hotel, which features two restaurants, three bars, in-room dining, banquets, and catering. Your mission is to deliver extraordinary guest experiences, drive revenue growth, and ensure operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary innovation, a strong background in crafting memorable experiences, impactful leadership skills, and a track record of financial success. Ideal start date in Spring 2025.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily operations of multiple outlets, ensuring consistency and top-tier service quality.
  • Develop and enforce SOPs to maintain high standards of food, beverage, and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene standards meet local regulations and company policies.

Strategic Planning

  • Create and execute both short- and long-term strategies to boost revenue, optimize costs, and enhance profitability.
  • Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitor insights to continuously refine and innovate offerings.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to design on-brand, cost-effective menus that resonate with target demographics.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the annual F&B budget, forecasting revenue, expenses, and profit margins.
  • Monitor key financial metrics—labor costs, food/beverage expenses—and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to balance cost-effectiveness with quality standards.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing F&B team, including managers, chefs, and frontline staff.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that values teamwork, professionalism, and growth.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing timely feedback and development opportunities.

Guest Experience

  • Champion exceptional guest service by setting high standards and promptly addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate with sales and events teams to design memorable private functions, weddings, and banquets.
  • Track online reviews and guest feedback, implementing proactive solutions to elevate service quality.

Marketing & Promotion

  • Partner with the hotel’s marketing team to create and execute innovative promotions that drive guest traffic.
  • Develop signature dining experiences, themed events, and local partnerships that resonate with both travelers and the local community.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends to introduce cutting-edge F&B concepts and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5–7 years of progressive F&B management experience, ideally in a hotel or multi-outlet environment.
  • In-depth experience overseeing pre-open F&B operations and project management.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and interpret P&L statements.
  • In-depth understanding of current food and beverage trends, including sustainability and local sourcing.
  • Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and point-of-sale (POS) technology.
